On Feb 8th Joseph weighed 16lb10oz and was 25.5" long, still 25th percentile. I've tried him with solids or puffs a few times since then, last was yesterday morning and he's still gagging and puking. I'm going to call our slp on Monday and see what she says. Even the twins started solids at 6 months adjusted and didn't do this. And he's such a little toot. He will sit up with assistance, and he'll spin around on his back, but isn't really rolling. He might go from front to back, but he still likes to spread his wings on is stomach so doesn't get quite high enough to do it. I'm a little worried.
Today makes 5 years that mom died. Wow, so much has happened in five years. No tears today, I miss her presence but the sharp pain in my heart is gone. Guess it got filled by the kids. Life goes on, right?
E and N started piano three weeks ago. I really like the program they're in, all four kids are fighting to be able to practice each day, love it! Theodore understands the concepts of long, short, low and high just as well as Nolan, and better than Elizabeth. Nolan is just working on Twinkle with donut dipper fingers. He seems disengaged, but he's getting it. I just have to remember to keep it fun lol! Elizabeth does not seem to be grasping the concepts at all. Sort of, but not entirely, she's so distractable. We'll keep working on it.
Nolan's been doing sight cards and working on numbers and letters for over two months now-today he can write all the letters if I ask for each of them, large and small, and he can write most of his numbers from 1-10 if I ask. He can write his first and last name, and we're working on middle names and family member names. We are playing POP for sight words, which is awesome. He gets to write down each of the words we pick, its really improved his ability to write letters this past week. I think we're going to switch back to sight cards this week and get working on sight card words. He knows all of his colors, and is starting to work on basic shapes. He can draw a stick person and a family with prompting. Why didn't I start this a year ago? Maybe he wasn't ready. Elizabeth refuses to write her letter, and might sometimes copy a straight line. Theo is at her level, and A is lower than that. He's also pretty disengaged with writing. We have been doing reading time with library books at the table again, which is really cool. I read five books, then put them in the middle of the table and each kid can look at their books, and pass them around. Its very cute when A and T "read" the stories over again to themselves, so cute!
Nolan just got his Mr Pencil game today so right now he's working on lines, curves and shapes-perfect!
To do this week: pull out our sight card letters and numbers to 15 again, and get N and E cutting and glueing. Twins need to get more wax coloring in.
This is fun!
