Yay for a school Saturday! I am currently halfway through my fifth course for my Master's in Education! That means I am exactly half through my Master's!! I started one year ago and I cannot believe the time and work I've already put into it, but its so worth it. I am learning incredible things from the professors and students around me. I am the only RN in the course, except for one OT everyone else has a BEd and are teachers currently teaching somewhere between k-12. Its such an eye opener for me as a parent and educator! I am learning so much and staying so engaged, I love it! Right now my course is called Instructional Leadership, basically its for teachers who are or want to be principals and what strategies they can use to engage the teachers who work for them to obtain more education and experience to improve student outcomes. Totally nothing I'm familiar with, I love it! What I need to do, is take whatever I can from the content and relate it to my current area of expertise, which is often the most confusing part for me. My profs have been excellent in helping me tailor my Master's to something that I can work with. Its been a great adventure so far! And I have a whole new set of teaching resources that are non-nursing from which to glean learning. I am so glad that I went this route!
Dear Lord,
Thank you so much for the opportunity to be in this Master's program and for the support and love of my family as I take this path. Jeremy went hunting, so Delia was gracious enough to cover for him last night and today so that I could go to school. Please show my children how important education is and how its so important to always have educational goals. Not only will they have great jobs and careers but they will feel self fulfilled and past that thirst for learning onto their own children.
In Jesus' name I pray,
Amen.
