Good morning baby bean:)
Two of the moms in PAL on JM told me that once you have a healthy pg after a loss, that your risk of further m/c goes down to that of a regular mom. I have not confirmed this, but I like it! We will be cautious before each hb or u/s or beta until viability, but this gives me hope!
I am not in control of this, or any of my kids' lives. I need to learn to trust that this pregnancy will be fine.
I'm still pg today!!
Today we're leaving for five days, the twins have their preemie 18 month assessment in the city tomorrow. Hoping the roads are decent. We got the studded winter tires put on the van yesterday, so that's gonna be so much better. Its been snowing here on and off for two days now. It was -22C yesterday with the wind chill-brrr! Though I know it could be much colder by now;)
I bought a pair of mat jeans and top yesterday, and we're gonna buy me a couple more in the city this weekend. I also bought baby bean a little sleeper yesterday-its so tiny:)
15 days until Christmas Eve! Nolan is so excited!! So far, the tree is safe inside the dining room, though each time the three littles get in there, things magically start "falling" off the tree;)
All the kids plus Mylo got haircuts yesterday, very fun! They're all super-cute again:)
We went to RCIA last night, it was about "community" in the church. Next week we're all invited to the bible study's Christmas carols and dinner-that sounds like fun. Wednesday nights are alot of work for us, in terms of scheduling and running all over the city with a sitter, but its such a nice time for just the two of us each week. Life gets so busy, that I think it could be easy to forget that we were a couple, first.
Oh right, I also bought a new Pregnancy Week by Week book yesterday-I had it with Nolan, and it was a nice reminder that peanut is growing, and I'm still pg:)
I saw my internist yesterday, my fasting glucs are already above target, not much, but my insulin resistance is already kicking in. I am to eat a complex snack before bed, and a protein during the night, this in an attempt to avoid allowing my IR liver to overproduce insulin-if my fasting glucs aren't down with diet, I'll start a night insulin next Wednesday. I'm already doing four glucs a day, and bp's three days a week. I was dx with gdm with Nolan at 28 weeks, on insulin at 30 weeks, it was very busy since I was still working in the OR full time until 35 weeks. This time, I'm starting earlier but I am working full time from home. Good numbers help grow a healthy baby, so its worth it. I knew this would happen, just not so soon:(
My former obgyn doesn't have room for me in his practice, so I need to go back to my family doc next Monday for my final beta result, and find out who will be following me. I will be a repeat c/s for cpd, but am high risk so will likely need to be followed by an obgyn. I suspect they're gonna want a dating u/s, too. I'm also waiting for a call from the diabetes clinic, esp if I might start insulin next week, and I also need a dietician for my carb counts. I need to remember to call them today before we leave town for an appt next week.
Have a wonderful weekend!
